JVC was founded in the late 1920s, as a subsidiary of a US firm specializing in the manufacture of gramophone, and from 1930 began producing disc records in Japan. In 1932 started producing radio receivers and in 1939 made the first Japanese TV. Since its begining, JVC has been involved in the development of innovative equipment, for example, in 2004 presented the world's first consumer camera recording on hard disk.
At present, JVC, after its alliance with KENWOOD, has Professional and Broadcast equipment with features that differentiate it from its competitors. JVC's professional cameras are present in all sectors of audiovisual production, from recording personal and corporate events, to educational centers around the world, to local, community or state-level television. Many of them offer features such as direct connection via Wi-Fi, downloading clips using FTP or even direct streaming from camera.
Another area in which JVC stands out is in signal monitoring. The JVC monitors are characterized, like all products of the brand, to offer multiple differentiating characteristics. The 10-bit signal processes, extremely wide viewing angles, excellent levels of color aberration, contrast of 1.500:1 and brightness between 300 and 450 cd/m2 depending on model, make the difference with similar equipment of its competitors.
